Friendly, hospitality, clean-neat, family atomosphere
Accommodating policies. Really nice and helpful staff, very sweet and offers useful help when it's not even asked. Clean, simple, value, comfort.
Although it is a a bit quaint, it was comfortable and extremely well priced for Japan. I stayed in a business hotel two nights prior and this was much more comfortable and cheaper. The hostel is a bit far, but they will come to matsumoto station to pick you up and even send you off. So nice! They also have bikes available, so you can bike around the town and it feels absolutely lovely. I definitely recommend it.
It's far from the station, but the bike ride makes it fun.
Extreme friendliness and helpfulness of staff. They picked us up and dropped us at the station even though it was accessible by bus and our Japanese speaking daughter was travelling with us. On the second evening we walked back along the river to the Ryokan.Great location, in peaceful but accessible suburb.
The family who runs the Ryokan Seifuso are wonderful. The woman who primarily greets the visitors speaks English certainly well enough to communicate and her daughter speaks English very well. They both were very accommodating and helpful with information about the area. The daughter wrote up a great map of places to eat in the main downtown area, which is a helpful addition to the information they provide. Since the ryokan is near the university, there are a few places to eat within walking distance that are open late which is important if you arrive late and hungry like I did. They provide bikes that are free for guest use, and this is a wonderful way to see the city and to join the crowd of many Japanese people who travel by bike. Their location allows for riding on a small street for a ways along the river, then one can use sidewalks to ride along busy streets to get to the center of town. It is a safe and fun way to go. The room is traditional and comfortable with tea provided. The toilet and sink area down the hall is clean and sufficient. The public bath area was fine. I liked the fact that they had drinking water available in the hallway for guests at any time. I chose the Japanese breakfast which was quite nice and filling. All-in-all, this was a very pleasant stay. I would definitely return and definitely recommend this as a good option for visiting in Matsumoto City.
Very friendly staff and clean and orderly facilities.
This was our first stay in a traditional style Japanese accomodation. The futons and tatami flooring were beautifully presented and the Western attached bathroom was appreciated. The family who run this Hotel are attentive and gracious.
Free bikes, good staff
Cycling back after a day out downtown is actually quite some exercise!
Nice place, gorgeous breakfast and very friendly staff. Also the pick up service is very convenient. Great value for your money.
We loved the warm and friendly hosts at Ryokan Seifuso. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was fresh and tasty. We really appreciated being picked up and dropped off at the station, as they are a little tucked away and not easy to find.
Very good English (+1 native speaker) close to a range of good restaurants the restaurant map was very helpful
The hosts were fantastic.the location is a bit far from the station but near to the Asama spa. The ryokan has discount tickets to the castle and the spa ànd if you ride the bicycle it's actually quite convenient to get around
Really helpful and friendly staff/ owner. Very nice room, convenient "onsen" style bathroom. Authentic Japanese Ryokan feeling, relaxed atmosphere..
There was nothing particular that we didn`t like.
I liked the Japanese cultural experience. The staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful.
The staff were friendly and helpful, going the extra mile to ensure we got to the castle and train station on time.
